Maloneys Create Scholarship with Legacy Gift to Fordham
Born in Newburgh, New York, Joseph F. Maloney, III was educated by the Christian Brothers at St. Patrick’s High School and by the Jesuits at Fordham University, graduating from FCRH in 1970. After military service, Joe began his nearly four-decade long career with The Bank of New York—retiring as a senior vice president and managing director with responsibilities for the company-wide Middle Market and Small Business Banking activities.
Joe’s wife, Susan K. Maloney, began her career as a teacher for students with special needs and progressed to become director of special education for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and later the coordinator of student teaching for undergraduates and graduates at Mount Saint Mary College.
The couple, who split their time between New York and South Carolina, are deeply engaged in their communities, serving on various nonprofit boards. Advocates of education, Joe and Susan have established scholarships at The College at Brockport (Susan’s alma mater) and at Fordham University through planned gifts.
Although Joe’s Jubilee was postponed this past May, he looks forward to reconnecting with his suitemates next year. In the meantime, Fordham is honored to celebrate the legacy he and Susan have established at Fordham.
Please consider joining the Maloneys in the 1841 Society by including Fordham in your estate plan.
