Doris Keeley, LAW '59
Doris Keeley, LAW '59 has been a donor to Fordham Law for almost 40 years, having notably established the John J. and Mary L. Keeley Endowed Scholarship in honor of her parents to provide financial aid to students enrolled in the evening division of Fordham Law.
Josephine Ruggiero, Ph.D., GSAS ’70, ’73
After spending her career helping sociology students grow as researchers and future professionals, Josephine Ruggiero, Ph.D., GSAS ’70, ’73 created a scholarship, via a bequest, for undergraduate students majoring in sociology who are aiming for public service or social justice-related careers.
Dennis Marks, FCRH ’66
Strong believers in liberal arts education, Dennis and Patricia recently established an endowed chair in cosmology at Fordham through a bequest in their wills supporting the University’s $350 million fundraising campaign, Cura Personalis | For Every Fordham Student, which seeks to enhance the entire student experience.

Charles J. Masters, M.D. has been a loyal donor for more than 25 years. To do that, he leverages his IRA qualified charitable distribution (also known as an IRA rollover) to support Fordham students - ensuring that they will have the same holistic education and high-impact experiences he did.

The Theresa Lim Mao Graduate Student Retreat Endowed Fund was created by designating Fordham as a beneficiary of her individual retirement account.
Joseph and Susan Maloney
Advocates of education, Joe and Susan have established scholarships at The College at Brockport (Susan’s alma mater) and at Fordham University through planned gifts.
Bill and Doreen Quinn
Strong proponents of education, Bill and Doreen have established an endowed scholarship for undergraduate students at Fordham and have created their legacy by including Fordham in their estate plan.
Tom and Eileen Lamberti
At Fordham he established the Thomas M. Lamberti Endowed Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support to full-time Fordham College Rose Hill students who attended a Jesuit high school.
Rosemary and Patrick Cooney
Rosemary and Patrick created the Santana Cooney Endowed Scholarship Fund, establishing their legacy at Fordham. Their leadership gift will provide financial aid and foster diversity of the student body.
Frank and Peggy Bia
Peggy and Frank have included a gift to the Anita Bia Endowed Scholarship Fund in their estate plan, making them members of the 1841 Society—a group of loyal alumni who provide for future generations of Fordham students in their estate plans.
Karen Asconi
Karen Asconi decided to include WFUV in her will and to make the station the beneficiary of a life insurance policy and gift annuity. To that end, Karen shares: “It’s the least I can do to try and spread the word where I can and to share what I can where it can serve a greater good.”

John M. Zizzo, Esq., FCRH ‘69
Fordham and its football program set the foundation for the successful career of John M. Zizzo Esq., FCRH ’69, and now the retired real estate attorney and member of the university board of trustees is giving back with a significant gift from his IRA.
Jay Bergen ’62
Jay Bergen ’62 has established three scholarships with gifts from his retirement assets as well as a bequest to honor the three people—his aunt Grace Tierney, his uncle John L. McIntyre, and Hon. Sylvester J. Ryan ’17—whose assistance getting into Fordham Law and securing a clerkship there was integral to his legal education and career.
John E. Schmeltzer III ’74
He recently included a sizable bequest to Fordham Law in his will to continue funding of the John E. Schmeltzer IV Memorial Endowed Scholarship.
William J. Burke, Sr., FCRH ’65, LAW ’68
Burke’s gifts include a major contribution for his 25th reunion and a series of charitable gift annuities. As an investment advisor, Burke says that gift annuities may be a smart way to give.
Hon. John F. Keenan ’54
Judge Keenan made a generous bequest pledge to the Feerick Center because he believes the work of the Center is important for Fordham Law students and for society.
