Charles J. Masters, M.D., Uses IRA Distribution Gifts to Support Fordham Students

Charles J. Masters, M.D.The new academic year has arrived at Fordham and with it, our first female lay president, Tania Tetlow - Fordham's 33rd president.

As Fordham seeks to educate the whole person, I am grateful for all of our alumni donors who join us in making that vision a reality. Allow me to introduce one such individual.

Dr. Charles Masters obtained his doctorate in pharmacy in 1956. Throughout his educational and medical career, Charlie says that "Fordham is the institution I hold most dear." The Jesuit education Fordham afforded him helped propel him into a career of service. He was a medical doctor in the military during the Vietnam War and later established several pharmacy and radiology practices.

Today, though retired, he still thinks fondly of Fordham and all the opportunities it provided him. He's been a loyal donor for more than 25 years. To do that, he leverages his IRA qualified charitable distribution (also known as an IRA rollover) to support Fordham students - ensuring that they will have the same holistic education and high-impact experiences he did.

To learn more about making a gift through your IRA like Charlie, call the office of gift planning. We would be happy to discuss your options with you to maximize your philanthropic support of Fordham.
